The TCSII Web portal a “hit” with middle grades educators
Since its debut on February 29, 2008, users are flocking to TCSII to learn more about ensuring success and closing the achievement gap for all of California’s middle grades students. Initial quantitative and qualitative analysis shows that the TCSII Web portal has exceeded initial performance expectations. Check out "What's New" for more details . . . |

Be sure to watch for the following updates that are coming to the Taking Center Stage—Act II portal:
- Online tutorial. Visit the soon-to-be-released Online Tutorial to get a glimpse of all the exciting features that were designed to help busy middle grades educators.
- Professional learning modules (WMV; 5:09). The Middle and High School Improvement Office will post “Professional Learning” modules to help each middle grades faculty learn how to implement the concepts included in the Taking Center Stage—Act II recommendations.
The first four learning modules are included on the TCSII “Road Show” CD which each middle grades school team will receive upon completion of the Road Show training through their County Office of Education (see the Calendar for more details).
The professional learning modules include the following:
- "School Design Game" modules used to build understanding of the TCSII recommendations at the 2008 California League of Middle Schools Conference.
- TCSII Road Show modules:
- Setting the Stage
- Backstage Pass
- Meet the Recommendations
- Dress Rehearsal.

This TCSII tutorial introduces educators to the many features of this rich portal using a Captivate movie presentation format. It offers users a playbar control to start, stop, advance forward, or move backward during the 20 minute movie. There will also be an "Alternate Accessible Version of Online Navigation Tour" available.
